The Eagles would clamp down on defensive for the rest of the game, riding emotions and the stellar play of big Brian Baird, a 6-foot-4 inch, 210 pound defensive end, who seemed to be in on every play and had at least two sacks in the ballgame. The Eagles scored a field goal before halftime to pull within four with the score at 14-10. They would rely on something special to take the lead in the third.
